About Captain Riley Holden

I have been obsessed with fishing and the outdoors since I was old enough to hold a rod. Growing up, I had the privilege of fishing with and learning from many different guides on western rivers since the age of 9. At age 21, I became a Guide myself and knew right away this was the career for me. Teaching people, especially kids, the sport of fishing is my passion.

I was drawn to the Florida Keys by the challenge of chasing the biggest, fastest, meanest and most difficult game fish the US has to offer. Islamorada has a legendary angling history and I feel lucky every day to be able to experience the magic of this place. I am a fly fishing guide by trade and love teaching anglers the way of the fly, regardless of age, skill level or experience. However, the fly rod is not always the right tool for the job and I am equally comfortable using spinning tackle when the situation calls for it.

The Boats

17’ Maverick HPX-V

This is the boat for the serious angler who’s ready to test his or her skills sight fishing in shallow water for North America’s most challenging and sought after game fish species. This boat can accommodate up to 2 anglers and allows us to get into hard to reach places that aren’t accessible in a larger boat. It is the essential Keys backcountry flats fishing experience.

25’ Contender Bay

This is a great family friendly boat that can handle a wide variety of conditions and fishing situations including backcountry, reefs, bridges and the Gulf of Mexico. Comfortably fishes 4 anglers but will accommodate up to 6.
